Job summary

Mary Free Bed is seeking a Day Shift nurse supervisor to provide direct clinical supervision and ensure high standards of care within the nursing units. The role involves coordinating shift operations, assigning staff, and ensuring regulatory compliance across the unit.

You will act as a clinical resource, promote evidence-based practices, and collaborate with physicians and hospital departments to maintain smooth patient care and safety during the shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, treatment and services within the scope of their license and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinates all unit operations on the assigned shift and ensures regulatory compliance.
• Facilitates proper placement of patients on the nursing unit in collaboration with the Patient Access Coordinator or designee.
• Makes shift assignments and completes the assignment board.
• Adjusts staffing up or down using the Resource Management Plan.
• Ensures staff remains compliant with documentation standards.
• Serves as a clinical resource for unit staff and promotes evidence-based practice.
• Provides direct patient care for a team of patients when acuity or census changes require it.
• Acts as a liaison between physicians and hospital departments to ensure smooth unit operations.
• Works with staff to help achieve patient satisfaction targets and participates in performance improvement and governance activities.
