Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Labor and Delivery unit is seeking an experienced nurse for FT night shift, 7 PM–7 AM, with 40 hours weekly and additional admin time. You will administer and direct nursing interventions, document care, and communicate with physicians to support patient outcomes.

The role requires leadership experience and at least 2 years in Labor & Delivery, delivering compassionate, ethical care in a high-acuity environment within Vanderbilt's renowned academic health

Qualifications

• 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience strongly preferred.
• Leadership experience is required.
• Effective communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Performing the initial nursing assessment, communicating findings with the assigned physician or mid-level
• Assessing the wound stage and measurements, documenting care plans, evaluating the patient status in regards to desired outcomes
• Identifying patient care situations that require intervention
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives, providing education to the patient and/or caregiver, and serving as patient advocate in the delivery and coordination of care
• Collaborates as needed with other healthcare provides, Wound Care Center Providers, the Program Director and Medical Director regarding patient needs
• Performs other duties as required
