Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Computational Fluid Dynamics Engineer within the Mission Critical team to lead CFD design models for data center projects.

You will guide the CFD project team through design and construction, adapting models to budget and client needs while interfacing with multiple engineering disciplines and delivering clear technical reports. Preference for engineers in training (EIT) and ABET-accredited degrees.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited mechanical engineering degree with 3 years of mechanical engineering experience (consulting preferred).
  • FE exam completed with 3 years of mechanical engineering experience (consulting preferred).
  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering with 2 years of experience (consulting preferred).
  • Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, BIM(Revit), and CFD-related tools.
  • Engineering in Training (EIT) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead CFD analysis from conceptual phase through design completion.
  • Prepare and present technical CFD reports for clients.
  • Interface with multiple engineering disciplines and QA/QC processes.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction goals and project timelines.
  • Advise on modeling information exchange and project milestones.
  • Perform wind speed and weather probability analyses.
