Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital in North Tampa is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician shift lead. The role offers an hourly pay range of $24.13–$34.85, with pay reflecting experience, skills, and local minimum wage laws.

You will support a veterinary medical team, mentor paraprofessionals, and drive high-quality client care. Responsibilities include client recruitment, case management, surgery assistance, documentation, and ensuring safe, clean hospital operations.

Qualifications

• Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT)
• Experience with veterinary patient care, client communication and teamwork may be preferred

Responsibilities

• Actively recruit new clients by promoting hospital services, Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care.
• Manage flow of clients and pets to ensure optimal client care and productivity of the veterinary team.
• Provide professional, efficient service; educate clients about pet health; prepare procedures; monitor hospitalized or surgical pets.
• Assist with surgery as applicable under veterinarian supervision and state law.
• Train and mentor new paraprofessional associates.
