Job summary

Charles River Insourcing Solutions seeks a Central Services Supervisor to support the Novartis site in San Diego, CA. The role leads Central Services and Animal Care Technicians, guiding cagewash operations and ensuring SOP and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include staff scheduling, training, quality reporting, and attendance management to meet client objectives and maintain animal facility standards. ALAT is preferred and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher with 5+ years of related laboratory animal facility experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership/supervisory role.
• Associate's degree in animal science with 4+ years of related laboratory animal facility experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership/supervisory role.
• Bachelor's degree in animal science with 3+ years of related laboratory animal facility experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership/supervisory role.
• ALAT certification preferred; LAT level or above advantageous.
• Knowledge of federal, state, local (Animal Welfare) laws, SOPs, Good Laboratory Animal Practices, and strong leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Participate with and provide leadership and guidance to staff to maintain quality performance of departmental and client objectives.
• Coordinate personnel scheduling in line with business objectives; conduct training activities.
• Inspect cagewash facilities, equipment and materials to ensure sanitation and compliance.
• Oversee development and adherence to SOPs and required documentation.
• Oversee record maintenance; generate and submit internal and external reports.
