Job summary

Charles River is seeking a Central Services Technician I (Cagewash) to join our Insourcing Solutions team in Cambridge, MA. This entry-level role supports cage washing operations and related lab services in a fast-paced environment.

You will operate washers and autoclave, maintain sanitation, organize documentation, and ensure safety in accordance with SOPs and GLP expectations. A high school diploma and up to six months of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Up to 6 months of related lab animal facility cage wash or glassware cleaning experience.
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel and email.

Responsibilities

• Removes dirty bedding and other items from housing boxes.
• Operates washers and cage washing equipment in proper working order.
• Performs sanitation of cage wash rooms and related areas.
• Transports cages and equipment between animal areas and wash rooms.
• Maintains documentation and SOP adherence.
• Inspects equipment and conducts aseptic sampling as required.
