Job Summary
Oversee and lead the setup process for catering events, ensuring all stations, tables, equipment, and decor are in place according to the event specifications and client requirements. Ensure all setups meet quality, safety, and presentation standards.
Supervise and guide catering staff, including waiters, bartenders, and setup assistants, to ensure effective performance during the setup and event execution. Assign tasks, provide instructions, and ensure clear communication throughout the event.
Monitor the use and condition of catering equipment, linens, and supplies, ensuring everything is properly stocked and well-maintained. Assist in the inventory process and ensure timely procurement of supplies as needed.
Ensure that food and beverage presentation is up to the company’s standards. Conduct quality checks before the event begins to ensure all elements of the setup are in place and ready for service.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations during the setup and operation of catering events. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas before, during, and after the event.
Quickly address any issues or challenges that arise during the setup or event process, working efficiently to resolve problems and ensure the event runs smoothly.
Lead the breakdown and cleanup process after events, ensuring that all equipment, supplies, and decor are properly packed and stored, and that the event space is left in pristine condition.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a catering or event planning role, with at least 1 year in a leadership or supervisory position.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple aspects of an event setup simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team and client management.
Attention to detail and high standards of service quality.
Ability to lift heavy items (up to 30 lbs) and stand for extended periods. Must be able to work in various environmental conditions, including different indoor and outdoor settings.
High School Diploma or equivalent. A degree or certification in hospitality, event management, or a related field is a plus.
This role requires flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the catering event schedule.
