Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Cashier/Stocker to act in a lead capacity in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager. You will unload trucks, stock merchandise, run the cash register, and provide exemplary customer service while protecting assets.

Responsibilities include maintaining plan-o-grams, greeting customers, and ensuring a clean, organized store. This role requires adherence to SOPs and teamwork within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months of supervisory experience or related training preferred.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures, cashier accountability, and deposit control.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store procedures.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays; restock returned merchandise.
• Operate cash register and collect payment; provide correct change.
• Greet and assist customers; locate merchandise and maintain cleanliness.
• Open/close the store under direction of Area Manager.
• Maintain a safe and secure working and shopping environment.
