GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Lead Cashier (LC) is responsible for the efficiency of guest transactions and maintaining excellence in cashwrap standards, including cleanliness and overall aesthetics. Experienced in cashiering, the LC assists in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates. This role involves collaborating, leading, and influencing peers, and driving loyalty results, including credit, through performance, people, and process focus. The Lead Cashier supports the leadership team with register functions, associate inspections, and cashier chats, emphasizing guest experience, process excellence, and achieving goals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance

• Contributing to store goals related to sales, loyalty, and shrink reduction.
• Providing exceptional guest service, greeting, engaging, personalizing service, and recommending products.
• Handling sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
• Supporting in-store services and events to enhance guest experience and sales.
• Replenishing and maintaining cashwrap displays and supplies.
• Maintaining attendance and store standards.

People

• Supporting an inclusive environment for teammates and guests.
• Assisting with cashier chats, associate inspections, and training new cashiers.
• Staying informed about industry trends and product knowledge.
• Promoting the guest loyalty program and store credit goals.
• Leading and influencing peers to achieve performance targets.
• Participating in ongoing training and collaborating store-wide.

Process

• Ensuring compliance with policies and standards.
• Adhering to dress code.
• Completing transactions accurately and controlling cash/media.
• Executing register opening/closing functions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma preferred.

Experience: 2 years relevant experience or equivalent; proven sales and training ability; customer service skills; exceeding sales goals.

Skills: Proficiency with POS systems and technology; excellent communication; collaboration; customer relationship building; adaptability.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays.
• Must be 18+ years old.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Mobility, bending, lifting up to 25 lbs., and other physical activities during shift.
