GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Lead Cashier (LC) is responsible for the efficiency of guest transactions and maintaining excellence in cashwrap standards, including cleanliness and overall aesthetics. Experienced in cashiering, the LC assists in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates. This position focuses on collaboration, leadership, and influencing peers. It drives loyalty results, including credit, through performance, people, and process, supporting the leadership team with register functions, associate inspections, and cashier chats. A passion for guest experience, process excellence, and delivering exceptional results by engaging guests on our Loyalty Life Cycle is essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance

• Contribute to achieving store goals related to sales, loyalty, and shrink reduction.
• Provide exceptional guest service, engaging each guest and personalizing their experience.
• Handle sales, refunds, and exchanges courteously.
• Support guest services like makeup applications and product demonstrations to enhance sales and experience.
• Book appointments and support in-store events to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
• Maintain cashwrap displays, supplies, and impulse fixtures for guest readiness.
• Maintain regular attendance.

People

• Support an inclusive environment for teammates and guests.
• Assist leadership with cashier chats and associate inspections.
• Stay informed on industry trends and product benefits.
• Promote the guest loyalty program and create excitement around credit and loyalty goals.
• Train new cashiers and cross-train associates.

• Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and sales performance.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
• Adhere to dress code.

• Perform register open/close functions as directed.
• Maintain store cleanliness and standards.
• Protect assets and minimize loss through safety and inventory controls.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High school diploma preferred.

Experience

• 2+ years relevant experience or equivalent education and experience preferred.
• Ability to delegate, multitask, and problem-solve.
• Passion for guest service and sales.
• Experience in addressing guest concerns professionally.
• Proven sales achievement and training ability.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Mobility throughout the store.
• Frequent bending, reaching, lifting (up to 25 lbs.), and manipulation of objects.
