Chesterfield County is seeking a motivated individual for a safety-sensitive role involving oversight of revenue collection and waste management operations. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, supervisory experience, and strong communication skills. Responsibilities include maintaining safety compliance and ensuring customer satisfaction while performing physical tasks.
High school diploma or GED; two years of experience performing cashiering and/or grounds maintenance duties; one year of supervisory experience preferred; basic knowledge of accounting principles and experience in cashiering operations; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Basic computer and calculator skills are required; good customer service, communication skills, and accurate record keeping are necessary; knowledge of waste management operations and managing hazardous materials is a plus; ability to work in all weather conditions; work in this classification is primarily physical in nature requiring standing for long periods and lifting up to 60 pounds.
Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at the time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of the interview date.
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, and education/degree verification required.
This position is considered Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Assists the Site Supervisor with oversight of revenue collection activities, adhering to all county auditing procedures and policies. Monitors convenience center operations to ensure compliance with OSHA safety requirements; serves as a point of contact to resolve customer complaints and answer questions; oversees waste disposal and recycling programs at the centers; performs general grounds and facilities maintenance; and maintains accurate records. Displays a positive attitude and prioritizes safety. Performs other duties as required.

40 hours/week; shift includes some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Projected Schedule:
1st Week: Monday, Thursday, Friday; 6:45 a.m. - 6:16 p.m.; Tuesday 6:45 a.m. - 1:45 p.m.
2nd Week: Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday; 6:45 a.m. - 6:16 p.m.; Tuesday; 11:15 a.m. - 6:15 p.m.
