Job summary

American Contracting & Environmental Services, Inc is seeking a Lead Carpenter to lead and support field operations on water and wastewater construction projects. You will supervise carpentry crews, perform hands-on work, read drawings, and ensure work is completed safely, on time, and to project specifications.

Responsibilities include lead rebar installation, formwork, concrete placement, and coordinating with trades.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of construction experience.
• At least 2 years of carpentry experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Experience leading crews or small teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise carpentry crews, typically up to 4 team members
• Perform hands-on carpentry work alongside crews
• Read and interpret drawings and rebar plans to guide installations
• Lead rebar installation, including cutting, bending, and securing materials
• Perform and oversee rough carpentry including framing, temporary structures, and structural components
• Lead formwork installation for slabs, walls, columns, and other structures
• Coordinate and execute concrete placement and curing processes
• Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Ensure work is completed accurately and meets quality and safety standards
• Coordinate with team members, subcontractors, and project staff
