Job summary

American Contracting & Environmental Services (ACE) is seeking a Lead Carpenter to lead field operations on water and wastewater construction projects in the DC-Baltimore region. You will supervise carpentry crews, manage formwork, rebar, and concrete placement, and ensure safety and on-time delivery.

This role requires hands-on carpentry, ability to read drawings, coordinate with trades, and mentor a small team of up to four workers in challenging outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of construction experience.
• At least 2 years focusing on carpentry.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs.
• Experience leading crews or small teams.
• Strong safety awareness and craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise carpentry crews up to 4 members.
• Perform hands-on carpentry work with the team.
• Read drawings and rebar plans to guide installations.
• Lead rebar installation, cutting and fastening.
• Oversee rough carpentry including framing and structures.
• Coordinate concrete placement and curing.
• Operate carpentry tools safely and efficiently.
• Ensure work meets quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and project staff.
