Job summary

Jerry Harris Remodeling is seeking a skilled Lead Carpenter for residential remodeling projects across South Hampton Roads. You will lead carpentry work for additions, kitchens, bathrooms, and whole-house remodels, collaborating with project managers to meet design specifications and timelines.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in remodeling carpentry, reads blueprints, and maintains a safe, organized jobsite. Valid license, background check clearance, and strong teamwork are required.

Qualifications

• 3 years of carpentry experience, including remodeling.
• Experience reading blueprints and project plans.
• Valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
• Ability to pass a background clearance.
• Strong safety knowledge and best practices.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry work for remodeling projects including additions, kitchens, bathrooms, whole house remodeling, exterior remodeling, and accessible remodeling.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure projects meet design specs and client expectations.
• Execute framing, install trim, cabinetry, and other finish carpentry tasks with precision.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, store and manage tools/materials properly.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, promoting a safe work environment.
• Communicate effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors to meet goals and timelines.
• Participate in in-house training to develop carpentry skills.
• Mentor junior team members and support a collaborative work culture.

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Must have 3 years experience in carpentry, including remodeling.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in carpentry.
• Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in carpentry.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project plans.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Computer and building software experience is preferred.
• Commitment to high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
• Must have a valid driver's license and insurable driving record.
• Ability to pass a background clearance.
