Qualifications

• Typically has 6 years industrial construction experience with 2 years in Supervisory roles.
• Identify practices and conditions that are safe as well as those that are at risk and provide appropriate, on-the-spot corrective action if needed.
• Read and interpret blueprints, understand job specifications, implement Bechtel job procedures and work rules, and inspect finished work for quality and completeness
• Understand the work scope and integrate priorities of the project.
• Understand work priorities and schedules.
• Complete planned work on schedule.
• Identify potential problems in a timely manner.
• Take quick remedial action when work performed is not according to drawings and specifications, code requirements, or to quality of accepted construction standards.
• Be familiar with project cost control procedures and be committed to stay within established cost goals and unit rate standards

Responsibilities

• Identify safe practices and conditions and provide on-the-spot corrective action when at risk.
• Check the adequacy of existing job methods and procedures.
• Instruct journeymen in specific craft tasks including safety procedures and techniques.
• Read and interpret blueprints, understand specifications, and inspect finished work for quality.
• Coordinate work across crafts to prevent jurisdictional conflicts.
• Understand work scope, priorities, and schedules to complete planned work on time.
• Identify potential problems early and take remedial action if drawings or specs are not followed.
• Adhere to Bechtel procedures, cost control, and report time sheets and work status.
