Job summary

The Foreman will supervise construction workers, ensure safety, interpret drawings, and manage daily reports and compliance with legal requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Experience coordinating multiple crews.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and plans.
• Solid knowledge of legal requirements for construction sites.
• Solid understanding of quality building practices.
• Proven problem-solving and quick-decision abilities.
• Familiarity with DOT specs and roadway operation requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and schedules and adjust as needed.
• Lead safety meetings with crew before each activity.
• Explain construction means and methods to crew members as necessary.
• Delegate responsibilities to crew members and contractors.
• Provide resources and staffing to meet schedules and safety needs.
• Promote safe use of tools and equipment and train on safety gear.
• Resolve conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably.
• Report project status to supervisors on a regular basis.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and uphold good housekeeping.
