Job summary

Orange County Public Schools seeks a skilled carpenter lead to perform advanced trades, lead a crew, and manage projects across district facilities. The role includes estimating material needs, coordinating work with staff, and ensuring safe, quality carpentry installations and repairs.

You will oversee tasks from planning to completion, mentor less experienced staff, and maintain accurate records and inventories while upholding OCPS safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 5 years of skilled carpentry experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CDL Class D license and forklift/Hilti gun training.
• Experience leading trades crews and coordinating projects.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customers in a courteous, accurate and timely manner while representing OCPS.
• Lead crew for facilities maintenance and carpentry projects and delegate tasks.
• Receive work orders, coordinate activities, determine materials and tools required.
• Prepare cost estimates and ensure purchase orders and inventories are up to date.
• Perform skilled carpentry tasks such as interior/exterior installations and repairs.
