Job summary

Orange County Public Schools is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform corrective and scheduled maintenance across various craft disciplines in district facilities around the Orlando area. This role involves concrete work, drywall, carpentry, plumbing, electrical checks, and building systems as assigned, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

Under general supervision, you will inspect, maintain, and repair equipment and building components, and participate in training to stay current

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, plus vocational/technical training in building maintenance.
• Three years of experience and/or training in related craft disciplines.
• Valid Florida CDL license preferred; IPCS screening for new hires required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to internal and external customers in a timely, courteous manner.
• Perform scheduled, corrective, and predictive maintenance on equipment and building components.
• Patch concrete, build basic forms, and pour/finish concrete.
• Repair drywall, tile, stucco, and related surfaces.
• Install/create/repair doors, closures, locks, and hardware.
• Inspect and test electrical and fire alarm systems and lighting.
