Job summary

John Grace Restoration and Construction in West Michigan is seeking a Lead Carpenter to take ownership of restoring homes and delivering high-quality carpentry work. You will lead 2-4 staff, communicate with homeowners and the Project Manager daily, and ensure safety on-site while meeting project timelines.

Ideal candidates have 6-8+ years in construction and 2-3 years of leadership, with strong time management and a collaborative, proactive approach.

Qualifications

6-8+ years of verifiable construction experience.
2-3 years of team leadership in a construction environment.
Ability to function in a high-stress, changing environment.
Excellent time management, delegation, and multitasking skills.
Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Open to giving and receiving feedback to help growth.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of construction and job site safety.
Skilled in framing, trim/cabinets/doors, windows, exterior finishes, and finished carpentry.
Oversee 2-4 staff and ensure high quality of work with clear expectations.
Communicate with homeowners and Project Manager daily to keep projects on track.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment at jobsites.
Drive company vehicle to jobsites and adhere to traffic laws.
