Hill Top Craftsmen LLC in Spokane, WA is seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to lead a residential crew. You'll work hands-on with framing, additions, remodels, read blueprints, mentor teammates, and ensure safety and high craftsmanship on every project.

This is not desk work—it's hands-on leadership on site with competitive hourly pay of $30-$40, with opportunities for advancement based on performance and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on residential construction with carpentry and framing.
• Experience leading crews as Lead Carpenter or similar field leadership.
• Ability to read blueprints and translate plans into field work.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using construction technology such as Buildertrend, Bluebeam or Procore is a plus.
• Strong communication with team and clients.
• Dependable work ethic and lead by example.

Hill Top Craftsmen is looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter who takes pride in producing exceptional work while leading a crew in the field. If you're an accomplished carpenter with strong framing experience, whether it's commercial or residential, and enjoy mentoring others while staying hands‑on, we'd love to meet you. This isn't a management role where you spend the day behind a desk. You'll work alongside your crew, oversee daily construction activities, and help ensure every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the high standards our clients expect.

What You'll Do

• Lead crews on residential construction projects, including framing, additions, remodels, and other carpentry work.
• Work alongside your team while setting the pace for productivity and craftsmanship.
• Read construction plans, complete layouts, and ensure accurate field execution.
• Coordinate daily work activities to keep projects on schedule.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and project leadership as needed.
• Identify and resolve field issues before they impact quality or schedule.
• Communicate project progress and site updates to company leadership.
• Mentor less experienced carpenters while promoting accountability and teamwork.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands‑on residential construction experience with a strong carpentry and framing background.
• Experience leading crews as a Lead Carpenter, Crew Lead, Foreman, or similar field leadership role.
• The ability to read blueprints and translate plans into efficient field execution.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
• Excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience using construction technology such as Buildertrend, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with both team members and clients when needed.
• A dependable work ethic and a commitment to leading by example.
