Aerotek seeks a Lead Carpenter for commercial construction projects based in Southlake, TX. The role oversees carpenters and subcontractors, reads blueprints, and ensures precise layout, framing, and finishing carpentry.

Qualifications

Job Title: Lead Carpenter Job Description

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee carpenters and subcontractors on commercial construction projects.

• Participate in site preparation and layout, including reading blueprints and verifying dimensions.

• Perform rough carpentry tasks such as floor, wall, and roof framing, sheathing installation, and stair framing.

• Complete exterior carpentry work that includes exterior sheathing, siding installation, and trim.

• Handle door and window installation, ensuring proper hanging, setting, and hardware installation.

• Execute finish carpentry tasks, including installing baseboards, crown molding, and interior trim.

• Specialize in cabinetry and millwork, working on kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, and custom millwork.

• Engage in specialty carpentry projects such as concrete formwork and heavy timber construction.

• Address punch list items and final completion tasks like adjusting doors, repairing trim, and conducting final inspections.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in construction, carpentry, and commercial construction.

• Ability to perform all phases of carpentry, including layout, concrete formwork, rough framing, and finish carpentry.

• Experience with metal stud framing and hand tools.

• Capability to read blueprints and establish building lines and elevations.

• Knowledge of concrete pours and rough carpentry.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience operating equipment such as forklifts, skidsteers, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.

• Certification from CITC or an union apprenticeship is preferred.

• Possession of an OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Southlake, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
