Better Homes LLC is seeking a Lead Carpenter to join a small, growth-focused team building high-end remodels and new construction. You will work closely with the owner, lead the crew on site, and help create systems and checklists to scale the business while maintaining craftsmanship.
The role emphasizes leadership, finish carpentry excellence, blueprint reading, and proactive problem-solving within a growing company environment.
Better Homes LLC is a high-end construction and home remodeling company built from the ground up — literally. Our owner Nicholas started swinging a hammer in high school and never stopped. Since 2017, we've been doing quality work for quality clients: custom bathrooms, finish trim, exterior siding, and full new builds. No shortcuts, no sloppy finishes. Just work we're proud to put our name on.
We're a small crew right now — four guys who show up, work hard, and actually care about the end result. Our reputation is entirely word-of-mouth and we hold a 90% client retention rate because of it. We're not the biggest company, and we're honest about that. But we're growing, we're building something real, and we need the right person to grow with us.
We're looking for a Lead Carpenter who wants more than just a job site to show up to.
This isn't just \"run the crew and hit the punch list.\" We need someone who's bought into building a company — helping us create the systems, checklists, and workflows that will let Better Homes scale without losing what makes us good. You'll work directly alongside Nicholas day-to-day, help lead the crew on site, and play a real role in developing our apprenticeship program so we can bring up the next generation of guys the right way.
If you want to clock in, clock out, and collect a paycheck — no hard feelings, but this probably isn't the fit. If you want to be part of something you helped build, keep reading.
We're also looking for someone who takes pride in their work the same way we do. If \"good enough\" is your standard, we're going to be a bad match. If you hold yourself to the same level as the guy paying you, we'll get along just fine.
We're a young company still figuring some things out. I won't pretend otherwise. But we have a great reputation, a crew that cares, and a clear vision for where we're headed. What I need is someone who sees that and wants to be part of it — not just as an employee, but as someone who helps shape how we operate.
If that sounds like you, I'd love to talk.
