Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living in Carlsbad, CA is seeking a Lead Caregiver to serve as shift leader and frontline supervisor, delivering consistent resident care and coaching the caregiving team.

You will lead assignments, provide hands-on ADL support, mentor new staff, review charting, and ensure ISP alignment while promoting safety and compliance. Strong communication and decision‑making are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR, First Aid and Medication Administration certifications required.
• Experience in assisted living, memory care, or senior care preferred.
• Strong communication, delegation and decision‑making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift assignments, manage attendance, and coordinate coverage.
• Provide hands-on ADL support when needed.
• Coach caregivers on quality, hospitality, and documentation standards.
• Review charting and ensure alignment with ISP.
• Monitor resident changes and communicate concerns promptly.
• Support onboarding and mentor new team members.
• Promote safety, compliance, and smooth shift transitions.
