Job summary

Right at Home is seeking a Lead Caregiver in the Houston area to coordinate new care starts and adapt to varying weekly schedules across multiple clients. You will cross-train with a range of clients and demonstrate compassionate, professional, and dependable service in a friendly team environment.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a proven commitment to patient care, and reliability in daily activities such as hygiene, mobility, meals, and light housekeeping.

Qualifications

• High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate.
• Three years experience as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in health care (in homes or facilities).
• Read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job.
• Reliable transportation to/from clients wherever they call home.

Responsibilities

• Lead Caregivers assist with all new care starts and manage varying weekly schedules.
• Cross-train with a variety of clients and apply different skill sets.
• Be compassionate, honest, professional, likeable, flexible and good at communicating with people at all levels.
• Assist with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, mobility, meals, light housekeeping, and other household tasks.

Lead Caregivers assist with all new care starts. This means your schedule will be different week to week. You'll have the opportunity to cross-train with a variety of clients and use different skill sets. You don’t mind getting a little dirty ... this could include (but is not limited to) assisting the patient with activities of daily living such as providing assistance with personal hygiene (toileting, bathing, care of mouth, skin and hair), ambulation, eating, dressing, shaving, light housekeeping, and other household chores.

You don’t have to be a gourmet chef but you can prepare a good meal and work your way around a kitchen.

Must Haves:

• High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate
• Three years experience as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in health care (in homes or facilities)
• Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job
• Meets the requirements for employees providing direct patient care
• Read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
• Reliable transportation to/from clients wherever they call home
