Job summary

Right at Home is seeking Personal Care Aides (PCA) to support seniors and adults with disabilities in their homes in Houston, TX. You will receive training, PPE, and ongoing support while building meaningful relationships with clients and their families.

Responsibilities include helping with daily living activities, meal prep, light housekeeping, and ensuring safety. Must have a high school diploma or GED, one year PCA experience, English proficiency, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One year experience as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in health care (in homes or facilities).
  • Sympathetic attitude toward care of the sick and ability to handle job demands.
  • Meets requirements for direct patient care.
  • Read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job.
  • Reliable transportation to/from clients wherever they call home.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, hygiene, ambulation, eating, dressing, shaving, light housekeeping).
  • Prepare meals and assist in kitchen tasks as needed.
  • Provide compassionate, respectful care and maintain patient dignity.

You don’t mind getting a little dirty … this could include (but is not limited to) assisting the patient with activities of daily living such as providing assistance with personal hygiene (toileting, bathing, care of mouth, skin and hair), ambulation, eating, dressing, shaving, light housekeeping, and other household chores.

You don’t have to be a gourmet chef but you can prepare a good meal and work your way around a kitchen.

Must Haves:

  • High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate

  • One year experience as a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) in health care (in homes or facilities)

  • Must have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick, and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job

  • Meets the requirements for employees providing direct patient care

  • Read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job

  • Reliable transportation to/from clients wherever they call home
