Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA is seeking an experienced Lead Surgical Technologist (Cardiac/Vascular) to join a high‑performing perioperative team. This role combines advanced scrub duties with leadership responsibilities to ensure OR readiness, instrument management, and smooth case turnover.

The ideal candidate holds CST certification, 3–5 years of surgical tech experience in Cardiac or Vascular settings, and a track record of mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• CST certification is required.
• 3–5 years of Surgical Technologist experience.
• Cardiac/Vascular OR experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures.
• Set up and manage surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Maintain sterile technique and monitor equipment during procedures.
• Facilitate on-time OR starts and efficient room turnovers.
• Coordinate staff break and lunch coverage as needed.
• Scrub cases to support operational needs.
• Review and prepare upcoming surgical cases.
• Ensure case cart accuracy and equipment availability.
• Collaborate with surgeons to maintain preference cards.
• Partner with Central Processing on workflow improvements and instrument optimization.
• Support inventory management and equipment maintenance.
• Train and mentor surgical technologists on equipment use and best practices.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for equipment troubleshooting and problem-solving.
