Job summary

SilkRoad is seeking a Security Officer III to lead the Security Team across campus and contracted areas, ensuring buildings are opened or secured on schedule. The role includes supervising lower-ranked security staff, patrolling areas, and preparing reports and incident documentation in support of campus safety.

The successful candidate will hold a current CA Guard Card, a CA driver’s license, and a good understanding of campus safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or 3+ years related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedures.
• Current CA Guard Card and CA Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Security Team on scene until a higher-ranking administrator arrives.
• Ensure all campus, off-campus, and contracted buildings are open or secure on time.
• Patrol campus and contracted areas, observe suspicious activity, and confront when needed.
• Complete punch rounds and secure contracted areas as assigned.
• Write citations and warnings as necessary.
• Learn and use all relevant codes applicable on campus and for contracted areas.
• Review logs and incident reports; investigate as needed.
• Maintain equipment and review irregularities.
• Verify dispatcher entries and ensure accuracy of events called in.
• Fill out incident reports and complete miscellaneous projects from supervisors.
• Follow the Security Office manuals and protocols.
