Job summary

UCLA Housing & Hospitality Services seeks a Food Service Manager to lead a high-volume campus restaurant, overseeing operations, service, and sanitation for up to 6,000 customers daily. The role involves supervising a large team, scheduling, training, and maintaining cost controls while ensuring exceptional guest experiences.

You will manage meal setup, service flow, and cleanup, maintain safety standards, and contribute to departmental goals in a dynamic, team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in hospitality or restaurant management or equivalent
• Leadership experience in a high-volume food service operation
• Ability to control food, labor, and supply costs
• Proven ability to hire, train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate staff
• Able to organize, delegate and monitor work assignments
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation rules for food service
• Leads team to deliver outstanding customer service
• Experience with reports & spreadsheets is preferred
• Willing to work weekends, swing shifts and overtime
• Provide group training on customer service and food safety

Responsibilities
