Job summary

SUNY Delhi seeks a dynamic Supervising Janitor to lead the Custodial Department, overseeing a team of janitors and cleaners across campus. The role includes planning staff assignments, supervising equipment control, and ensuring high cleaning standards while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The successful candidate will supervise staff, interview and select personnel, train new employees, and resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Two years of satisfactory full-time custodial care or cleaning experience, one year supervisory.
• Ability to supervise staff, read and follow instructions, and work as a team member.
• Must have a valid unrestricted NY State driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a staff of Janitors and Cleaners and manage cleaning for the campus.
• Plan and schedule staff assignments and cleaning services; supervise and distribute equipment and supplies.
• Inspect buildings and assigned areas; train new staff and prepare work reports.
