Job summary

The Regents of the University of California on behalf of their Los Angeles Campus is seeking a Custodial Supervisor I for UCLA Housing & Hospitality Services. The role oversees housekeeping for a major residence hall complex, supervising 16–20 full-time workers and up to 10 seasonal staff, ensuring safety, quality, and efficient operations.

Responsibilities include on-site inspections, staff training, scheduling, and maintaining compliance with university policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3-4 years custodial experience in a large institution.
• 1-2 years leading or overseeing teams.
• Experience in higher education environment preferred.
• Knowledge of staff policies, AFSCME, payroll procedures preferred.
• Ability to document schedules, evaluations, payroll reports.
• Experience supervising custodial staff and cleaning procedures.
• Ability to communicate in English and Spanish preferred.
• Must maintain safety, chemical handling, and equipment knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee housekeeping for a multi-unit residence hall and common areas.
• Supervise 16-20 full-time staff and up to 10 seasonal workers.
• Train staff on proper chemical use and safety standards.
• Perform on-site inspections for quality control and maintenance needs.
• Prepare schedules and performance evaluations; manage payroll reports.
