Compass Group, North America is hiring for a full-time Cook Supervisor at California State University-East Bay in Hayward. The role oversees food-service staff, ensures safety and quality, and enforces HACCP standards.

Schedule features evenings with some weekends; pay ranges from $26.00 to $30.00 per hour. Qualified candidates have at least 4 years of cooking and supervisory experience and can manage training, scheduling and performance appraisal.

Qualifications

• 4 years of prior cooking and supervisory experience is required.
• Willingness to work evenings and some weekends as part of a full-time schedule.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise food-service associates in accordance with policies, procedures and applicable laws.
• Train employees; plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline associates.
• Advise management on purchasing to minimize waste and avoid shortages.
• Ensure quality, proper temperatures and portion control using approved recipes.
• Operate, clean and maintain food-service equipment following procedures.
• Store, label and date foods to minimize spoilage; follow HACCP guidelines.
• Serve meals and gather customer feedback, perform other duties as assigned.
