Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Lead Camp Counselor in Covington, GA. This part-time role focuses on guiding and engaging campers, implementing activities, and promoting YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.

You will work under the Youth Development Director, supervising groups and ensuring safe, positive camp experiences for children 6 weeks through Pre-K, aligned with program standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma in progress or completed or GED.
• Experience working with children in structured settings.
• Current First Aid/CPR certification; other required certifications may apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing activities to provide guidance and engagement for campers.
• Help ensure safety protocols and high level of program quality.
• Report incidents to Youth Development Director or Camp Site Lead and assist with documentation.
