Job summary

Union Tank Car Company, part of Marmon Holdings, is seeking a CAD Drafter to create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for tank car components. You will interpret rough sketches and engineer calculations to ensure production-ready designs.

The role focuses on coordinating with engineers, verifying drawings to standards, and contributing to continuous improvement on drafting processes. On-site with potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Familiarity with 3D modeling tools.
• Knowledge of drafting standards and material specifications.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed drawings and models from verbal and written specifications.
• Review drawings against specifications and standards.
• Plan and prepare 2D/3D designs, coordinating with engineers.
• Specify dimensions, weights, and material requirements.
• Resolve design discrepancies and implement changes.
• Develop and finalize drawings for production review.
• Maintain project drawing files and documentation.
• Provide technical assistance to the team and mentor drafters.
