Job summary

Milwaukee Tool, a global leader in cordless hand tools, is seeking a Principal CAD Designer to lead advanced CAD development from concept to release.

You will own CAD workstreams, mentor a small team, and partner with Engineering, Industrial Design, and Manufacturing to balance performance and manufacturability.

This role requires 7+ years CAD experience, expert NX skills, and a hands-on, collaborative leadership style in an office setting in Milwaukee.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in CAD modeling and product design.
• Expert Siemens NX 3D CAD experience with complex surfacing and multi‑component assemblies.
• Experience with plastic molding, forging, die casting, sheet metal, and machining processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to lead, mentor, and coordinate CAD designers.

Responsibilities

• Execute quick-turn modeling to complex surfacing and tooling‑ready models.
• Own CAD workstreams across cross-functional projects.
• Create and maintain 3D models, drawings, assemblies, BOM inputs, and change documentation in NX.
• Collaborate with engineers, industrial designers, manufacturing teams, and global CAD resources.
• Coach and mentor a small CAD team and manage workload priorities.
• Promote CAD standards and continuous improvement across the team.
