Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Lead Cabling Technician for a contract role in Reno, NV. The incumbent will install, troubleshoot, and maintain CAT6 and fiber, review project scope with PMs, and travel as needed for out-of-town assignments.

Responsibilities include wiring, testing, and documentation to ensure quality and compliance. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work weekends/holidays when required.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a Lead Cabling Technician.
• Knowledge of Fluke test equipment.
• Ability to read construction floorplans.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel out of town, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Meeting with customers, reviewing project scope and tasks.
• Pulling/Installing and supporting CAT5e/CAT6 cable.
• Installing and supporting innerduct with fiber.
• Terminating, testing and labeling CAT5e, CAT6 and fiber.
• Building out IDF/DMF with racks, cabinets and ladder racking.
• Dressing cables and installing fiber channel trays.
• Installing grounding and bonding, including TMGB bars.
• Documenting and reporting tasks daily to the project manager.
