Job summary

Lenmar Consulting Inc. seeks a Lead Buyer for Capex procurement supporting large-scale projects.

The role is 100% remote with East Coast hours, and involves hands-on leadership of capital equipment, engineering services, and construction services for projects ranging from $10M to $500M. You will develop strategies, run RFPs, negotiate contracts, manage supplier performance, mitigate risks, and partner with Engineering and Project Management to deliver cost savings and process improvements across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, purchasing, engineering, construction, or related field.
• Strong Capex procurement experience on large-scale projects.
• Experience with SAP, Ariba, Oracle Unifier, or similar tools.
• Excellent negotiation, contracts, and supplier management capabilities.

Lead Buyer - Capex Procurement

Location: 100% Remote | East Coast Hours

Preferred: Near Walkersville, MD or Portsmouth, NH

Contract: 12 Months | Pay: $65-$80/hr

Overview

Seeking a Lead Buyer to support large-scale Capex projects ranging from $10M-$500M. This is a hands‑on player/manager role overseeing procurement of capital equipment, engineering services, and construction services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute Capex procurement strategies.
• Lead RFPs, supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and contracts.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance, risks, and change orders.
• Partner with Engineering, Project Management, and other stakeholders.
• Drive cost savings and procurement process improvements.
• Lead and support procurement resources on major projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Purchasing, Engineering, Construction, or related field.
• Strong Capex procurement experience in Pharma/Life Sciences, Oil & Gas, Technology, Manufacturing, or Construction.
• Experience with $10M+ capital projects preferred.
• Strong commercial negotiation and contract experience.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
• Experience with SAP, Ariba, Oracle Unifier, or similar tools preferred.
• CIPS, Six Sigma, or Project Management certification is a plus.
