Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking a Senior BI Analyst to develop and distribute management, drill-down, automated and visual reporting across the enterprise, prioritizing multiple requests and ensuring timely delivery.

The role emphasizes advanced analytics, self-service dashboards, and reports using MS SQL, data modeling, and popular BI tools. You will collaborate with stakeholders, maintain HIPAA-compliant practices, and mentor junior developers while delivering high-impact insights.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years BI/analytics experience in healthcare or enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of MS SQL, T-SQL, data modeling and dimensional modeling.
  • Proven ability to design dashboards and reports that meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and distributes management, drill-down, automated and visual reporting on time.
  • Provides advanced algorithms and statistical methods for BI solutions including dashboards.
  • Performs analysis on Epic data models and designs data structure additions.

Description
  • Develops and distributes management, drill-down, automated and visual reporting in a timely manner; prioritizing multiple requests and maintaining a support relationship with all users.
  • Provides advanced algorithms and statistical methods in the development of business intelligence solutions; including but not limited to self-service analytics, dashboards and interactive reports.
  • Performs analysis on various Epic data models. Defines and designs data structures additions (views, distribution methods, intermediate tables and multidimensional cube).
  • Manages scheduled and ad-hoc execution of processes and reports, as well as, diagnosing and fixing any report-related issues.
  • Maintains and promotes advanced knowledge of industry standards and best practices; ensures all deliverables adhere to HIPAA and IRB policies and procedures.
  • Utilizes knowledge of unique data, forecasting/analysis methods and visualization capabilities to enhance outcomes and provide insightful suggestions to stakeholders.
  • Participates in business requirement meetings to gather objectives, required elements and present experienced solutions.
  • Researches, designs and develops innovative analysis and reports/dashboards to further enhance enterprise and department's capabilities, including but not limited to patient care, quality and revenue improvement.
  • Manages an extensive portfolio of high-level Business Intelligence projects, including requirement gathering, planning, development, implementation, stakeholder management and on-going support.
  • Assists senior leadership with the Business Intelligence team's workflow, strategic goals and development in reporting tools, business analysis methods and techniques.
  • Provides mentoring, training and other resources to fellow developers on BI platforms, data sets and data visualization as well as, maintains a favorable work environment for all team members and clients. Oversees the instruction, direction and inspection of assignments for fellow developers as well.
  • Responsible for IS change control standards and procedures including successful release and communication of go lives.
  • Provides status reports and insights to departmental leadership in ad-hoc and weekly meetings.
  • Represents the department team in user meetings and performs project management duties as needed. Work with other departments to understand their needs.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Work Experience
  • 4+ years of previous work related experience required
  • Experience with data warehouses and health care EMR systems
  • Knowledge of MS SQL Database, T-SQL scripting and database modeling
  • Strong understanding of data design, architecture, relational databases and data modeling
  • Fluency with rational and multidimensional concepts
  • Ability to design, develop and integrate solutions across NYP systems
  • Clear demonstration of technical, analytical, organizational, problem solving and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, patience and a positive, customer centric attitude
  • Demonstrated ability to develop proficiency with unfamiliar toolsets
  • Business Intelligent toolset experience (Crystal reports, Cognos, Tableau, etc.)
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
  • Degree or major in Computer Science preferred
  • Master's Degree preferred
Licenses and Certifications
  • Epic Module Certification in job related module(s) (Obtained within 6 months of hire and renewed quadrennial) required
Salary Range

$97,000-$145,000/Annual
