Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior BI Leader to define KPIs, design enterprise-scale dashboards, and guide a team of BI developers in an office-based environment in Missouri. You will collaborate with business leaders to translate goals into scalable analytics, mentor teams, and deliver complex BI solutions that inform strategic decisions.

The role emphasizes Agile delivery, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement of BI capabilities, including production support and QA

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, technology, engineering, or related field.
7+ years of data-driven KPI, BI, and analytics experience in mid-to-large organizations.
Advanced experience designing enterprise-scale BI dashboards (Power BI or similar) with advanced UX/UI.
Advanced SQL skills to extract, analyze, and manage large datasets for BI, analytics, and ad-hoc reporting.
Proven ability to deliver production-ready BI solutions.
Ability to engage with leaders to translate business challenges into BI analytics.
On-call availability, including nights, weekends, or holidays.
Office-based environment with extended sitting and computer-based work.

Responsibilities

Engage business leaders, decision makers, systems and data owners, and end users to define BI goals, KPIs, success measures, and reporting requirements.
Translate business goals, operational needs, and available data sources into scalable, actionable BI solutions.
Design, develop, and deliver recurring and ad-hoc dashboards, reports, and analytics.
Partner with Data Engineering to ensure BI solutions are efficient, reliable, secure, scalable, and cost-effective.
Mentor BI developers in analytics practices, BI technologies, Agile delivery, estimation, and stakeholder engagement.
Educate business users on effectively using recurring BI reports and dashboards.
Lead discussion and prioritization of BI requests and manage stakeholder relationships.
Continuously improve enterprise business intelligence and analytics capabilities.
Deliver large, complex system components and lead medium-sized projects up to 52 FTE weeks.
Lead developers using formal software development methodologies such as Agile, including estimation, planning sessions, and project kick-offs.
Provide technical leadership while ensuring technical quality, on-time delivery, and resource performance.
Support QA with integration test plans, test conditions, expected results, and automated testing.
Research system issues, identify root causes, provide recommendations, and participate in vendor selection.
Implement technical best practices across the BI development team.
Lead design and architecture of medium-sized software projects focused on stability, scalability, security, and maintainability.
Support production BI applications, including rotational after-hours on-call support, and maintain documentation.
May manage junior developers through day-to-day management, performance reviews, one‑on‑ones, and career development mentoring.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, engineering, or a related field
Seven (7) or more years of experience developing data‑driven KPIs, business intelligence, and analytics within mid‑sized or large organizations
Advanced experience designing enterprise‑scale BI dashboards (e.g., Power BI or similar platforms) incorporating advanced functionality and UX/UI
Advanced SQL skills to extract, analyze, and manage large datasets for BI, analytics, and ad‑hoc reporting
Demonstrated experience delivering production‑ready BI solutions
Demonstrated capability to engage and partner with leaders to understand business challenges and address them through BI and analytics
On‑call availability, including nights, weekends, or holidays
Ability to work primarily in an office‑based environment involving extended periods of sitting, virtual meetings, and computer‑based work

Core Competencies
