Responsibilities

• Serve as a lead Business Analyst responsible for driving project success and coordinating the work of multiple Business Analysts on large, complex projects.
• Prepare and deliver informative, well-organized presentations and project status reviews to process owners, customers, and key stakeholders.
• Facilitate conflict resolution, maintain confidentiality, and manage project dynamics with strong emotional intelligence.
• Gather, clarify, and disseminate critical information within established organizational guidelines and methodology parameters.
• Evaluate information from multiple sources, consolidate details, and extract core functional requirements using advanced analytical skills.
• Translate user requirements into business, functional, and test scenarios for projects of varying size and complexity.
• Author and maintain comprehensive technical and project documentation.
• Synthesize stakeholder feedback and dynamically adjust project plans as needed.
• Build and maintain strong internal and external professional relationships across organizational boundaries.

Employment Type: Contract (W2 through ZipStaff - No C2C or 1099)

About the Opportunity:

ZipStaff is seeking an experienced Lead Business Analyst to drive project success for a state government organization in Phoenix, AZ.

In this role, you will coordinate analyst teams, translate complex user requirements into actionable business solutions, and serve as a key liaison between process owners, customers, and stakeholders. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong analytical skills, stakeholder management, and the ability to operate effectively within established organizational methodologies.

Local to Phoenix, AZ only. No remote or out-of-state candidates.

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of Business Analysis experience, including demonstrated lead or coordinating experience on complex projects.
• Proven ability to coordinate and oversee the work of multiple Business Analysts.
• Strong experience translating complex user requirements into business, functional, and test scenarios.
• Excellent presentation, written, and oral communication skills with a strong customer service focus.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate conflict resolution and manage stakeholder dynamics.
• Experience authoring and maintaining comprehensive technical and project documentation.
• Ability to balance, prioritize, and organize multiple competing tasks simultaneously.
• Proven track record of collaborative work within cross-functional teams.
• Must be local to Phoenix, AZ and able to work on-site
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience supporting state government or public sector projects.
• Familiarity with structured organizational methodologies and documentation standards.
• Experience leading requirements workshops or status reviews with senior stakeholders.
