Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) seeks a Transportation Instructor/Trainer to lead training and evaluation of bus drivers, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and maintaining a safe transportation operation. The role supports US Army transportation operations on Fort Sill and coordinates with supervisors for safety protocols.

The ideal candidate has 3–4 years of driver training experience, a REAL ID license, and positive drug/background screening results.

Qualifications

• Three to four years of bus driver training or related transportation experience.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and background screening.
• Able to obtain a favorable Tier-1 investigation and CAC.
• REAL ID-compliant state driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct classroom and behind-the-wheel training for drivers.
• Ensure compliance with DMV, DoT, and US Army regulations.
• Maintain training records and reports.
• Oversee licensing and certifications for drivers.
• Coordinate with supervisors to meet safety protocols.
• Assist in incident investigations and safety drills.
• Manage dispatch logs and movement documentation.
