Job summary

Eagle Mountain City is seeking a Building Inspector III to perform site inspections of residential, commercial and industrial buildings to ensure conformity with city codes, state and international building codes.

The role requires an active Utah Combination Inspector license with ICC Residential and Commercial credentials, and a minimum of five years of field inspection experience (or six years in related work). A high school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed within Utah as a Combination Inspector with ICC Residential and Commercial certifications.
• Minimum five (5) years of field inspections or six (6) years of related construction experience.
• Graduation from high school or GED.

Responsibilities

• Assist in inspecting residential, commercial, and industrial buildings to ensure compliance with codes and ordinances.
• Review and interpret plans and specs; communicate changes to owners and contractors.
• Issue permits for building, plumbing, electrical, and other construction phases as required by law.
• Perform site inspections including framing, wiring, plumbing, and HVAC to verify compliance.
• Investigate code violations and coordinate with departments to enforce regulations.
