Job summary

TRC Talent Solutions in Charlotte, NC seeks a Lead Controls Systems Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and startup of building automation and industrial control systems, while providing technical leadership for project teams.

This role requires strong PLC/DDC knowledge, HVAC control logic, and field integration, with responsibilities spanning from design through commissioning and customer demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• 3+ years of controls engineering or automation experience.
• Proficient in HVAC controls and building automation concepts.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and control sequences.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams of 2-5 engineers with technical guidance.
• Develop instrument lists, panel layouts, and submittal packages.
• Configure HMIs, PLC, DDC, and DCS systems and testing.
• Support proposals with hardware and engineering estimates.
• Transfer knowledge through design reviews and customer demonstrations.
• Ensure site startup, commissioning, and customer training.
