Job summary

TRC Talent Solutions is seeking a Lead Controls Systems Engineer to design and lead building automation projects in Peachtree City, GA. The role involves leading a small engineering team, configuring DDC/PLC/DCS controls, and delivering robust control system solutions.

You will collaborate with customers, participate in design reviews, and help estimate hardware costs and engineering effort for proposals. Travel to client sites is expected up to 50% nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or related degree.
• 3+ years of experience in controls engineering.
• Experience with Rockwell/PlantPAx or Distech systems.
• HVAC/building automation knowledge including P&ID understanding and sequences.
• Ability to travel up to 50% nationwide.
• Strong problem-solving and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide team leadership and sales support for building automation projects.
• Guide a project team of 2-5 engineers and assign tasks.
• Lead customer meetings and assist with proposal generation by estimating hardware costs and engineering effort.
• Maintain relationships with existing customers and ensure project success.
• Lead instrumentation and electrical design: create instrument lists, select devices, draft submittals, and develop panel layouts.
• Design and configure system architecture: configure DDC/PLC/DCS controls, develop HMIs, and draft system documentation.
• Oversee onsite system startup, install software, perform loop checks, calibrate, and train customer personnel.
