Howmet Aerospace Inc. is seeking a Lead Build Technician for Research & Development in Whitehall, Michigan.

This on-site role focuses on providing technical expertise, performing leak testing on vacuum casting, heat treat and coating equipment, and supporting equipment builds and startup. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least three years of machine-building/assembly/troubleshooting experience, with preference for an associate degree in industrial or manufacturing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of three years work experience in machine building/assembly/troubleshooting/testing and machine start-up.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and perform leak testing on vacuum casting, heat treat and coating equipment to ensure vacuum integrity.
• Travel to customer sites domestically and internationally for project installation and support.
• Operate drill presses, saws, mills, lathes and other hand tools; support equipment builds and start-up.
• Review contractor timesheets and assist supervision/management in technical and administrative matters.
