ANCO in Hartford, SD is seeking an experienced Broadcast Tower Crew Chief to lead field crews in installing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing broadcast infrastructure. The role combines hands-on tower work with leadership to deliver projects safely, on time, and to high quality.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in the tower industry, leadership experience, and a strong background in antennas, RF, rigging, and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of tower industry experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership role.
• Experience with broadcast tower construction, antenna systems, coax, RF infrastructure, and rigging operations.
• Strong understanding of tower safety, fall protection, rescue procedures, and rigging best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specs.
• Proven leadership skills to motivate and manage a team.
• Travel availability up to 80% of the year; residence within 1.5 hours of Hartford, SD.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily activities of broadcast tower crews; assign tasks and monitor progress.
• Oversee installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of towers, antennas, transmission lines, and related equipment.
• Direct rigging operations, antenna installs, line replacements, and structural modifications.
• Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations, company policies, and client requirements.
• Conduct daily safety meetings, job hazard assessments, and site safety briefings.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, clients, and subcontractors to meet schedules and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate project documentation including reports, safety records, and inspections.
• Troubleshoot field issues and implement effective solutions.
• Train and mentor tower technicians; promote a culture of safety and professionalism.
• Inspect tools, rigging equipment, PPE, and vehicles for compliance and readiness.
• Operate company vehicles and manage equipment in travel and project execution.
