Job summary

Sinclair Broadcast Group seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer to serve as a hands-on leader, bridging engineering, leadership and station staff. You’ll be the go-to expert for equipment and technology at the location, and you’ll help maintain live production readiness.

You’ll supervise the transmitter and engineering systems, travel with the News team, respond to emergencies, and mentor teammates to elevate their craft while staying current with industry standards and FCC guidelines.

Qualifications

• On‑job and/or formal training repairing transmitters.
• Valid and unencumbered driver’s license.
• Experience/education/certification in engineering-related fields.

Responsibilities

• Act as subject matter expert and point of contact for equipment and technology at the location.
• Provide transmitter support and replace/adjust defective equipment.
• Networking / wiring and budgeting/administrative duties for the department.
• Support and assist News department for live production readiness.
• Stay up-to-date on industry standards and FCC regulations; mentor staff.
