Job summary

Sinclair is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to act as the go-between for the engineering team, leadership, and location staff. This role leads a team and supports live production at the TV station, including travel with the News team.

You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot engineering systems, provide transmitter support, and stay current with industry standards while managing budget-related tasks.

Qualifications

• On-the-job or formal training repairing transmitters.
• Valid driver’s license (unencumbered).
• Work experience or education in engineering-related fields (tech, electrical, information systems).
• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide transmitter support and troubleshoot equipment.
• Replace or adjust defective and/or improperly functioning equipment.
• Networking / wiring duties across site.
• Administrative tasks: track and organize department budgets.
• Serve as SME and point of contact for location equipment and new industry standards.
• Support the News department to maintain must-have live production capabilities.
