Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Westwood, MA is seeking a Bridge Engineer to lead design and management of bridge projects within our transportation and infrastructure teams. You will oversee design development, prepare reports and specifications, and coordinate with clients and contractors to deliver high‑quality solutions.

Candidates should have a civil engineering degree, 6–10 years of bridge experience, MA PE, and proficiency with Bentley/OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in civil engineering and 6–10 years of bridge design experience.
• Massachusetts Professional Engineer (PE) license or reciprocity.
• Experience with highway/rail bridge projects.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Familiarity with Massachusetts/Connecticut DOT standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Management of bridge projects.
• Overseeing bridge design, contract document development, and technical writing.
• Assisting in reports, specifications, plans, studies, and designs for project.
• Independently evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
• Leading meetings with clients and contractors with other members of the project team.
• Reviewing various shop drawings and preparing preconstruction cost estimates for projects.
• Working with the team to prepare proposals.
• Financial management of projects, including updating internal financial system, invoice preparation and payment processing.
