Job summary

HDR, Inc. is hiring a Bridge Engineer for our Louisiana / Mississippi Transportation Group. This position will be located in our Flowood MS, office.

As a lead technical engineer, you will perform complex bridge design tasks, supervise junior staff, and contribute to intercity highway and railway projects. An active PE license and proficiency with major engineering software are required.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
• Familiarity with LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, MIDAS, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, STLBridge.
• Knowledge of ADINA, LUSAS, OpenBridge Designer and OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk InfraWorks and Civil3D.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA, Prestress Concrete Design.
• Experience using structural analysis programs and bridge design software.
• Experience managing junior staff.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Active participation in employee‑owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical role on bridge design projects.
• Perform complex structural planning, analysis and design for all structural aspects of transportation projects.
• Work on projects including bridge types and interchange design for highway and railway projects.
• Serve as technical specialist or Project Manager on mid-size projects and supervise junior engineers and EITs.
• Perform other duties as needed.
