Job summary

Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is seeking a full-time Senior Bridge Engineer to lead Albuquerque’s bridge team. You will serve as structures lead and SME on complex projects, partnering with contractor teams and owners to deliver fast-track structural designs across NM and national practice.

The role requires mastery of bridge analysis, AASHTO/AREMA standards, and expert review. Mentoring staff and developing standards, tools, and training are key aspects of the position.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• Doctorate in Civil or Structural Engineering preferred.
• 15+ years of structural engineering experience involving bridges, retaining walls, or other transportation structures.
• Professional Engineer license, with the ability to obtain New Mexico licensure within six months of hire.
• Demonstrated expertise in bridge analysis, design, rehabilitation, load rating, seismic design, complex geometry, railroad structures, or related practice.
• Experience leading complex technical assignments and reviewing the work of other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as structures lead and subject matter expert for complex or nonstandard bridge projects, including design-build.
• Coordinate with contractor partners, owners, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver structural design on fast-track schedules.
• Provide technical leadership, reviews, and expertise on projects in multiple states.
• Establish design criteria, analysis methods, modeling strategies, and technical approaches.
• Plan and deliver structural design packages that support construction sequencing and schedule.
• Perform and oversee advanced analysis and design for concrete, steel, earth-retaining, and drainage structures.
